For us, art isn’t just a shared passion, it’s the lifeblood that connects us, flowing through our family across generations. It's the pulse of our identity, the way we’ve always known how to feel, express, and connect.
From an early age, we were all encouraged to explore our own creative expressions. Each of us walked a different path, yet we all understood, even then, that art wasn’t just a hobby, it was an inheritance, a legacy, a truth passed down, not in words, but in brushstrokes, melodies, stitches, and movement.
Our homes became our first galleries, filled with vibrant creations and woven with the spirit of our collective artistry. That spirit first began to flourish in the 1990s, when many of us found ourselves immersed in the world of art school, a generation of women discovering their voices, learning side by side, exhibiting our work in the same shows and walking through the same creative fires.
Life eventually took us in different directions. But art remained the golden thread in our tapestry, a shared language, a grounding force, a reminder of who we were and where we came from. It was never just something we did; it was who we were.
Then in 2019, something shifted. A dream began to stir, sparked by a simple idea from my uncle:
What if we opened a gallery to honor our family’s legacy?
The idea struck a chord. We began to dream together, to plan, to imagine a space where our collective creativity could live and breathe.
But the pandemic changed everything. Like so many, we had to reimagine our vision. The dream of a physical gallery transformed into something even more expansive, an online collective that could reach beyond borders. It hasn’t been easy. The learning curve was steep, but the commitment ran deep. Through every challenge, our passion only grew stronger.
Amayz Art was born of that evolution. Our name is a tribute to our roots, “May,” our family’s maiden name, and the spirit of the women who nurtured our creativity. Our hope is to amayz you not just with our work, but with the heart behind it, with the stories, the memories, the courage it takes to speak through color and form when words fall short.
Growing up, creativity was our constant companion. It lived in every corner of our childhood, in the music, in the fabric, in the paint-splattered floors. It was nurtured by the women around us, who filled our lives with beauty and inspiration.
Today, art is still our shared language. It’s what connects us, heals us, and helps us tell stories that matter. The Without Words collection is a reflection of that legacy. It speaks to the part of you that’s still searching, still healing, still remembering your own power.
